Gillian Gibbons a teacher was convicted guilty by a Sudanese court and ordered to prison for 15 years for insulting a religion.

Ron Paul was at the Presidential debate hosted by CNN and youtube in Florida.... His only camera time due to really poor questions that were chosen as well a rude moderator who let some people run on and others get cut off. Additonally, Ron Paul was strategically placed at the end of the debate line, thus he didn't get a chance to be asked many questions, because he wasn't directly asked by the tuber. Yet one question directly asked to him wasn't about the issues that are important to the American public but was, his beliefs in conspiracies.

Well in last nights CNN youtube debate the question is still unanswered, since the War in Iraq was not covered along with most foreign policy issues that are at the real concern of Americans. Another unanswered question as we lead into recession is what will the next President do to not hurt the economy in such ways. Finally i can vlog on a direct religion question in the debates....

In my opinion you can't say your religion denies you from believing gays can't have rights... why? Because religion is not stagnant in other aspects why is it stagnant with things that are only socially unacceptable. How fair is that, and how does that make our country any different than countries that we're supposively trying to liberate. And as a president i don't believe your religious opinion or beliefs should filter into the beliefs that effect millions of people in our nation.

Mitt Romney, the GOP preseidential hopeful has pledge to give his presidential salary to charity if elected!

Why? Romney has admitted that he's made more money than he has expected in recent years through his many business investments. (Must be nice!) Hence, he feels no need to be self-fish, he would accept the presidential salary of $400,000 annually but donate it to chairty. As Gov. of Mass he has declined his salary of 135,000 yr.

His current assests range from 150 to 250 Million dollars which according to CNN.com makes him the msot wealthiest of all candidates running.

This charitable donation also has to do with Romneys religion. As a mormon, he is expected to atleast donate 10% of his assets/income.

The Supreme Court halted the execution of convicted child molester Mark Dean Schwab just hours before his scheduled death. The Supreme court stopped the execution after ruling death by lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment; after Angel Diaz lethal injection death took a total of 34 minutes which is twice as long as normal, due to the fact that guard injected the needle through Diaz's veins. I thought this was an interesting stance due to the fact that many religious groups don't believe in the state having the right to sentence the death penalty.

Another scandal for the catholic church, the video below shows the actual tape where this Vatican official told another man that, "being gay is not a sin." The tv show taping the scandal which was aired on Italian television network, that the two met in an internet chat room, where the plan was to have sex. The two met in St. Peter's Square near the Popes very own office. More shockingly the Vatican found out who the alleged priest was on the tape after seeing the tape on television, recognizing the office decor. Bill Maher makes a great point on how in the US you have to claim a religion before getting in office, thus you must pick a belief, that the majority of American's believe in and can identify with. Thus, the evangelical christian base bush has. Looking back in to the 1950's many people wanted Senator Kennedy to make a speech about how he has faith but how that faith won't et in the way of the state.

Maher also makes a good point on how many people don't know a lot about Mormonism's, thus the beginning of troubles for president hopeful Mick Romney, who happens to be a mormon. Mormonism is a different and rather new religion in the U.S. which many believe to be a type of cult. Furthermore, Romney has to do a similar speech as president Kennedy had before he took office.

Pro-choice Giuliani will have a hard time getting the GOP ticket considering the recent article published by Politico.com, (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0507/3876.html )

The article linked above states taht Giuliani gave multiple donations to the group "Planned Parenthood" which is frowned upon, considering one of the primiary issues Republicans stand under are the values of life, and thus anti-abortion.

Would you Vote for a Mormon?

Today more people than ever are discussing whether or not to vote for Mitt Romney afraid that his religious convictions would not reflect well with those of the GOP or the American public. As discussed in my political science class many people won't vote for certain religious leaders or people of different religions. Yet, as discussed if he could just get passed the primaries he will not have trouble in the general election getting votes versus one other democrat candidate. Many want to see Romney do a Kennedy like speech stating he wouldn't not let his own religion get in the way of the what matters to the American public or thus the GOP party. Yet, Romney like many other candidates don't won't to bite the hand that feeds you just quite yet. Considering the Mormon base groups are those that are helping him fund his campaign to the level of other front runners. Thus, if Romney wants to continue to be successful in his campaign he has to look for other funding means and appeal to a more general public.

Rudy Giuliani is calliing for Congressman Ron Paul to take back his remarks of 9/11. Paul, stated the reasons for the attacks on 9/11 have to do soley with our invasion on Iraq, over the past 10 years, "They attack us because we've been over there. Below is the video- audio tape in which investigators interviewed Republican Senator of Idaho, Larry Craig after attempting to solicit sex in a men's restroom stall in an airport. Senator Craig claims in one part of his interview, "I'm not gay."

Even more sad, Larry Craig later explained about his decision in pleading guilty to the police that he, overreacted and made a poor decision." Exclaiming he was scarred in the situation, I refuse to agree, most people understand their sexuality, and men in the GOP can reaffirm it rather quickly like craig did, but don't plead guilty to acts of soliciting gay sex!

A 19 year-old Physics major from, Lousiana State University was arrested today. Why? The Student, Richard Ryan Wargo had mentioned he planned a political attack on Clinton at her upcoming National Conference of Black Mayors in Baton Rouge. Why, the attack was planned is still uncertain, but Wargo is currently awaiting a $1 million dollar bail, his charges terrorizing, communicating false information of planned arson and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

According to a recent CNN article, Barack book deals have attribute to a little over half a million. His two books, "The Audacity of Hope" and "Dreams of My Father" have attributed to a total of $572,490 in royalities.

Obama's book deal includes the two non-fiction books stated above and an additional childrens book, yet to be released.

Although Obama has raised about $25,797,721, he is still one of the more modest candidates considering his financhial standing is mainly a senate pension plan.
